Constantly seen chewing and blowing bubbles out of bubble gum, Mebuki initially appears to be a rather mysterious character. She seems to enjoy messing with the other Sakuras, but they have difficulty getting a read on her personality. She tends to act out inexplicably, from suddenly getting violent to randomly confessing her love. It is later revealed that Mebuki is very talented at many things like karaoke, bowling, even claw machines to the point where very few things interest her. She finds it hard to take anything seriously and feels very little emotion, hence she is constantly fighting against boredom. She was especially talented at piano as a child - a prodigy, even. She claims she used to "love every sound that reached her ears" including music. After her parents pushed her to higher levels of achievement with piano, she lost her love of music, and the sounds that had once been so pleasant to her became nothing more than irritating noise Kanade "Oka" Sakuragaoka confesses his love for her and she finally breaks down her emotional wall, reciprocating his confession.
